Today we got to dive with the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles (Honu in Hawaiian) off the south shore of Maui. It is always a treat to see the turtles; they seem so ancient.
It was a great dive. Two of the people on the boat were on Maui for their first time and this was their first dive with Honu. It was a memorable life experience for them.
This one came really close to my lens and i think he was waving to me!
Remember, the turtles are protected, so never touch or harass them. Also, since they breathe air from the surface, it is important to be careful not to block their access to the surface.
